Abstract: In image processing programming, lifelike water wave effect is one of the most studied of image effects. The real wave effect is a complex process, how to discover these laws and to reproduce the true wave movement by the computer has become a key issue. Real and smoothly to simulate wave motion on an ordinary PC is took as the research target. Using Visual C++ 6.0 and MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes) class library, with DirectX technology, some commonly used arithmetic in computer vision have been implemented. Detailed test and analysis about GPU features have been done through GPU accelerated processing. The methods of optimizing computational performance on the GPU have been analyzed and summarized through the water wave image effects test.
