Abstract: The major of Information Security is a new emerging professional science which was approved bythe ministry of education in China in this century. Guangzhou University has enrolled Information Securitymajors from 2002. Currently, the major of Information security has been set up in more than 70 institutes ofhigher learning all over the country. Owning to the particularities of this major---short development period,extensive use and different demand for technical talent, the ministry of education has notworked out a unified plan. According to the present situation, development of this major in China and thesocial demand for technical in this field, we worked out the future development project for the major ofinformation security in Guangzhou University, which includes training objective, training methods, curricularsystem, practice plan and so on。We have the reason to believe the paper has some directive significance forthe development project of this field.
