Abstract: The control system, which used PLC as center controller and up-down single-chip processor to measure and process signals, was designed specially for the diamond wire saw to cut the compound pipes automatically and reduce the difficulty for the diver to operate underwater. The down single-chip processor system was able to measure the parameters such as the tension of the saw wire underwater, the signals collection of feeding displacement and water leakage, which was installed in the valves box underwater and consisted of signals input, signals insulation, and water leakage inspection circuits. The one of function of the up single-chip processor was used to receive and process the data from the down single-chip processor, and then pass them to the PLC system to control the device of diamond wire saw in close loop, and the other function of it was to provide interactive interface that could display the working state directly. The underwater electromagnetic valves was controlled by the output orders of PLC system, which could make the system work reliably. In the end, by experiment of the wire saw cutting the pipe automatically underwater it was found that the control system is stable, reliable and accurate, which is able to satisfy with the demand of engineering application.
