Abstract: The Proportional Fair Scheduling (PFS) guarantees the balance between the throughput and the user fairness based on multiuser diversity. The metric of PFS is the ratio of the feasible transmission rate to the average of transmission rate. Most researches of PFS are typically to simply the mathematic analysis and estimate the average of user throughput based on the linear rate mode or the logarithm rate mode. While, previous researches about PFS can provide good estimate of the user average throughput in Rayleigh fading for Single-Input-Single-Out (SISO) cellular networks, but non-valid for Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) cellular networks. Hence, in this paper, we provide a mathematical expression of user throughput based on Gaussian rate mode in Rayleigh fading. It is valid for both of SISO scenario and MIMO scenario.
