Abstract: |
Hydroxyapatite nanoparticles doped with Eu3+ (Eu:HAP) were successfully prepared by co-precipitation method through using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as template at room temperature. The structure, morphology and luminescent properties were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The results reveal that the obtained Eu:HAP has a hexagonal lattice structure and exhibit rod-like morphology with the particle size of about 20 nm in width and 40 nm in length. The photoluminescence intensities of Eu:HAP can be changed by altering the doping concentration of Eu3+, and reached a maximum at the concentration of 4mol% to Ca2+. Moreover, the yellow and orange emission bands with the peaks at 594 nm and 617 nm were observed with ultraviolet excitation.
