Abstract:	Metamaterials are a class of artificial material system with novel properties not found in naturally existed materials. The author propoosed the idea about merger of metamaterials and natural materials to break some limitations of metamaterials and explore the application of metamaterials in improvement of functional materials. A brief review on the recent progress on this area are reviewed in this paper.
