Abstract: Brake pads are an important vehicle brake system components, along with the car safety, environmental protection and energy saving requirements continue to increase and brake friction material manufacturing industry is also faced with severe challenges. This paper introduces a few friction materials for domestic and international situation, outlines the new friction materials and foreign research gaps, and that the trend of new friction materials is also discussed.
