Abstract: Scientific research work is one of the center work of a University, it’s level and ability are the important condition of the comprehensive strength of a University. The scientific research ability usually evaluated based on several aspects such as personnel and equipment. This paper analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the scientific research ability in Tianjin Polytechnic University by using the SWOT analysis method, and put forward a compound strategy to promote the scientific research ability of Tianjin Polytechnic University.
