Abstract: Stitching Foam-core Sandwich is a new lightweight sandwich constructer material. Due to stitch, mechanical properties of Stitching Foam-Core Sandwich are quite different from conventional laminates and Foam-Core Sandwich. Therefore many tests need to be conducted. It`s failure mechanism and strength theory still not clear. The article introduces the statues in the development of Stitching Foam-core Sandwich composites according to its development processes, manufacture processes and mechanical performance. The general conclusion is that in each mechanical behavior, Stitching Foam-core Sandwich is banter than the unstitched sandwich and the same density of honeycomb sandwich structure, with the development of its technique it will be an Ideal composite sandwich structures for aircraft.
