Abstract: With the rapid development of information technology, the information application is developing in greater depth. It extends gradually from small business systems to large-scale information systems. The large-scale information systems have complex structure, extensive application and distributed function. Authentication and access control which are the important safety measures are facing new challenges, and the traditional approach of authentication and access control must be adapted to new situation. Aiming at the problems of cross-border operations and complex functional requirements, analyzes the security requirements on authentication and access control, designs the model of agent-based authentication and access control. The model realizes the network equipment authentication, user authentication and user access control. Through describing comprehensively the model, discusses the working flow based on Kerberos and Role-based Access Control (RBAC). After testing the model based on Kerberos and Role-based Access Control under Windows environment, this model can better realize large-scale information systems certification and access control.
