Abstract: Smart card, also known as IC cards. Refers to the integrated circuit chip embedded with a portable plastic card, the card contains a microprocessor, I/O interface and memory, provides data computing, access control and storage function. Smart card, as a member of “family card” with the microelectronics and computer technology, continues to be rapid progress and the development of smart cards has been applied to the social sectors and all aspects of people’s lives. Java Card technology, primarily used in the smart card or similar device, has the security of approach to the implementation of small-scale Java applications (also known as Java Applet), this technique has been widely used in SIM cards (for GSM phones), ATM cards (also known as: financial cards, ATM cards). This article focuses on Java card technology, to bring the technological advantages, Java smart card system architecture and Java smart card application development process, also gives Java Card technology in mobile communication in a specific application, namely, a new type of SIM card-Java STK cards.
