Special Issue on Functional Foods and
Nutraceuticals
Functional foods and nutraceuticals have the common characters of general
foods that they can provide nutrition and energy to sustain life. But
functional foods and nutraceuticals also can regulate the function of human
body and are defined dietary foods that prevent or reverse a diseased state.
Increasing public awareness of the link between diet and health has propelled
the consumption of these foods to unprecedented levels, particularly in
countries where the population is aging and health care costs are rising.
Driven by market demand and technological progress, the development space of
functional foods and nutraceuticals industry is huge.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line
researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on
exploring functional foods and nutraceuticals.
